Today for bellwork, students were given the task of coming up with 3 character traits of the main character of our novel study Wild Robot and the actions or events that she has done in the story that give her those characteristics.
In math, students continued exploring area and perimeter using calculations and estimations. We also watched a video to review these concepts from yesterday's lesson.
In literacy block, we had the computers to complete typing up the final drafts of our stories. The students will have one more period on Thursday afternoon to complete the typing portion of the project.
In science, students were given a chance to practice labelling the three parts of a lever (effort, load, and fulcrum) and classifying the levers as either first, second or third class levers. They also took a lever quiz in partners as a way to review and finalize the concept of levers for their upcoming unit test.
We also had a practice fire drill today in the afternoon! This will be our final practice!
