Today in math, the grade 4 students began to learn long division! This is a skill that is brand new to them, so we spent lots of time going through the process and doing questions together as a group. While the grade 4 students work on long division, grade 3 students will continue to work on building up their basic multiplication and division facts for the next week through practice questions and games.
In language arts, students had time to finish up their stories they have been working on over the last few classes. Following the rough draft, students will be tasked with typing up their story on the computer as a good copy.
In social studies, we have been working so hard on researching First Nations culture. Today was the final day for research before we begin our diorama projects. Students will be creating a "scene" using a variety of materials that displays the knowledge they gained about the culture during their research.
WE STILL NEED ABOUT 4 SHOEBOXES! If you have an empty shoebox laying around the house, please send it with your child before Thursday! Students are also welcome to bring in craft materials that they might like to use for their diorama. We will have some basics like construction paper, plasticine, toothpicks, yarn, etc at school, but your child might desire more for their project. We will start creating on Thursday.
Have a great evening!
