April 3rd, 2023 ( Meet Ms. Munroe)

Hello Grade 3 and 4 Families,

I hope that you all had a wonderful spring break and were able to rest and reset with lots of family time and fun adventures!

My name is Lauren Munroe. I am so excited to be joining the Woodlands School community and getting to know all of your lovely students! They were very welcoming and kind today as I am getting to know the classroom routines and getting acquainted with my new position!

I will tell you just a little bit about myself as an introduction and I am sure your child can give you more information about me as well from what they learned today! I am originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, but I moved to Calgary in 2007, so I consider Calgary my home. On the weekends, I really enjoy anything that gets me outside and active such as skiing, hiking, camping, long walks etc. Previously this year, I was teaching grade 2 at Louis Riel school in Oakridge. I am very excited to be here for the next two months and gain experience teaching a split grade class as this will be my first time!

During the week before spring break, I met with Ms. Moore so that she could fill me in on the year and give me all the helpful information that I need to be successful while she is away on leave. I am working very hard to ensure that the transition is smooth and that I am able to pick up where Ms. Moore left off to continue the students' development and growth this year! We had a wonderful day today getting to know each other with a sharing circle, getting to know you games, and lots of discussions and connecting with each other. My heart is truly full because of how helpful and kind the students were to me today.

Tomorrow, we will begin back with a more regular routine and starting our new units!

Have a lovely evening! If you have any questions, you can email me at lamunroe@cbe.ab.ca .

Love,

Ms. Munroe
