I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to take advantage of the gorgeous weather:)
We had a great day today! In math, students were asked to represent multiplication facts in the 4 different ways that we have practiced so far! Students expressed the multiplication sentence as an array, skip counting, equal groups, and repeated addition.
In language arts, students began writing the introduction/hook to their stories they planned using a story mountain! After looking at different ways to make a great story beginning, the students were excited to be able to begin creating a story using their own ideas. Tomorrow, we will begin peer editing our story beginning and getting feedback on ways we might be able to improve our writing.
In science, we reviewed what the definition of “work” is, and completed a sorting task where students were given different tasks and had to decide if work was being done or not. Students need to recognize that in order for work to be done, there needs to be a force that causes the movement of an object. For example, if you push a boulder as hard as you can and it does not move, work did not occur.
