We had an extremely packed day of learning today as we strive to complete our Light and Shadows and our Fractions units before the break. The students stuck it out and tried their best to stay focused throughout the day!

In math, we learned about using benchmark fractions to determine where a fraction might be placed on a number line. Tomorrow we will complete some fraction word problems and then will be able to write our fractions test later in the day.

In science, we reviewed how white light can break up into 7 colours. Students wrote notes on this so they could better remember how it works. We learned about the parts of the eye, how light enters the eye, and why some people are nearsighted or far sighted. We also looked at some optical illusions. We tried to follow the steps to draw a 3D ladder. Some turned out and some did not work. See picture below for our example.

Have a great evening!
