Happy Monday!

The warm weather has been so enjoyable, however it brings out the allergies in many of us. Please discuss coughing and nose blowing hygiene with your child.

In math, we wrote a short "make-up test" for addition and subtraction that was much simpler. Many students didn't do well on the last one because the instructions were challenging for them, so we had a second chance at it today, with simplified directions.

We also began comparing fractions in math. When the denominators are the same, all you have to do is put the numerators in order. When the denominators are different, it becomes more challenging and we need to rely on models such as fraction bars and fraction number lines.

In science, we learned about how light travels through concave and convex lenses. They both bend the light just in different ways, which cause us to see altered images.

We also began to learn about how light separates out into colours using CDs.

Science duotangs went home today with some new information for students to study. Please send them back to school tomorrow so we can add more to them.
