We seem to have settled back in nicely to the routines of our class which is excellent!
Today, for bell work, we started working on mastering our basic facts. We talked about why basic facts are so important. Students filled out a page of doubles facts to 20 and recorded their time on the top of the page. When we do it again later in the year they will be able to compare.
We started our gymnastics unit in gym today. We discussed safety and how this unit is all about being in control of our bodies. Please ensure that students with long hair have their hair tied back (or come with a hair tie).
In math we continued estimating differences (subtraction questions) with white-board work and then a few worksheet questions. We finished off with an esti-mystery which was a huge hit.
In science we learned about sources of light (natural and artificial).
