Today we began our day by reviewing the Regions of Alberta in social studies (Boreal Forest, Grassland, Parkland, Rocky Mountains, Canadian Shield and Foothills). Students chose their top two choices that they would like to research. After recess and until lunch we had the computers and we researched what the land and bodies of water were like in our specific regions.
In math, we discussed when estimating is helpful when we are answering math questions. We can estimate before we answer a question to figure out what our exact answer should be close to, or we can estimate after to decide if our answer was reasonable.
