Today we continued on with our art project that the substitute began with the students yesterday. We got to use chalk pastels for the first time this year and blend in a circular motion to get the night sky effect.
We spent some time learning about where human-created waste goes. Today, we learned about landfills and incinerators. We learned that, while we should be reducing our waste, there are also some good things that happen during these processes (waste turned to energy, toxic gases turned to energy, etc). Ask your child about the good and bad elements about each of these strategies for dealing with waste.
