We have been plugging away at some new things that we started this week!

In Social studies, we learned about some interesting landforms in Alberta and how they came to be. We labeled a map with the lakes and rivers in Alberta.

In math, we learned about pictographs. We learned that every pictograph has a title, 2 columns (1 showing categories and the other showing data), symbols representing the data and a key to show what each symbol's value is.

In language arts, we started learning about things that we should be doing while we read. We discussed summarizing, questioning, connecting, visualizing, inferring and predicting. We practiced these skills using a story book called The Koala that Could. Ask your child about it!

Our first day of in-line skating is Thursday. Students are welcome to begin bringing their personal helmets, safety pads and rollerblades to school tomorrow in a bag. Please ensure all items are labelled with first name and last initial to avoid mix-ups. Students are reminded to bring an extra pair of socks so that if their feet become wet outside, they are not putting wet feet into skates that another student will be using after them.
