I hope everyone had some time to relax and recuperate over the long weekend.
Students were able to go outside to enjoy both recesses today which was lovely! In-line skating is happening in the gym right now which means that we are required to do phys. ed in our classrooms until it is our turn on Thursday. Students have been enjoying the activities we have been doing. Please do not send helmets, safety pads, or in-line skates until Wednesday. Our first day of in-line skating is Thursday. Please make sure all items sent are labelled with your child's first and last name.
We got straight to work this morning discussing adjectives. We looked at objects and listed out "just the facts", "how it looks", and "why it is important". The goal is for students to take those questions into consideration when writing about an object, to use more powerful adjectives rather than words like "nice" or "beautiful".
In math, we created our own tally charts. Tomorrow, we will be beginning to learn about pictographs.
In social studies, we began our new unit on Regions of Alberta. Ask your child what the regions of Alberta are and how they compare to our neighbours (BC and Saskatchewan).
Have a great evening.
