We had a very busy day in grade 3/4 today. We started our science unit on light and shadows today by going outside 3 times today and having partners draw our shadow in chalk. We learned that as the sun moves, our shadows change. It was very difficult this morning because it was quite hazy and the sun went behind a cloud but we made it work. The second two tries were way easier. See below. We do not actually continue this unit until later in the year but we need lots of hours of sunshine for this activity to be successful!
We logged into the computers briefly today just to make sure we knew how, and then we played a quick game of place value bingo once logged in. Students who are new to our school who did not remember their passwords were not able to log in today as their accounts have not rolled over to our school. This should resolve itself in the next couple of days, so for now they just shared computers with a friend.
We began learning about place value today by listing out information that we already know about place value. We will continue with this in the coming days and weeks.
Please ensure that students are prepared for the weather tomorrow as we may have some cooler temperatures and rain.
Have a great evening!
