Happy Tuesday!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful long weekend and had a chance to unwind!

We had a great day of learning in grade 3/4 today.

We learned that we will be holding the Terry Fox assembly towards the end of the month and are beginning to prepare already! Today we spent some time learning about Terry Fox and why his legacy is so important. We connected it back to the story "Say Something", which illustrates how individuals can express themselves through words, actions, and creativity.  Each student selected one of five pages that they connected with and drew a picture that they felt related to their page. Take a look at some examples below.

We did a math activity called "Figure Me Out". Students came up with equations that matched information about them which was hidden under a flap. See a couple of examples below.

We had our first music class today with Mrs. Switzer. Ask your child how it went!

Parent council is holding an Ice Cream Social Fundraising event on September 8th from 5-7pm. This is not a free event. Ice cream, juice boxes and other snacks are being sold for $1 each.

Parent Council is also holding a bottle drive fundraiser on September 10th. Look for the recycling container in the morning if you'd like to drop yours off!
