September 27th 2022

Sorry for the missing blog post yesterday! I am back in action today and feeling much better!

Thank you to all parents who booked their conferences and met with me last week. It was so great to officially meet most families, and get reacquainted with those families that I already know!

Today in language arts/social, we spent some time learning about residential schools and the impact that they had on the Indigenous community of Canada. We did some writing about why it is important to recognize and honour Orange Shirt Day, as well as the Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We will do our good copies tomorrow on orange shirts!

In math, we practiced taking numbers in expanded form and putting them back into standard (numeral) form. We will learn about word form tomorrow.

Students brought home a "seed hunt" page last week. Please ensure your child is collecting different types of seeds in a bag. As soon as they are satisfied that they ha
ve enough, they can bring their bags in and I can store them in the classroom.

Our first fun lunch is on September 29th 2022 (Subway). To register your child, go to www.healthyhunger.ca.

Orange Shirt Day is Thursday, September 29th.
