Happy Tuesday!
We had another very busy day.
We started out by practicing for our assembly again in the gym. Today we got through the whole thing. Tomorrow we will have one more chance to practice before the bug day on Thursday, at 9:00am. Parents are invited to attend!
In health, we started on a neat activity called "Calm Down Tools". We listed a whole bunch of "triggers" that make us feel stressed, angry, or frustrated (in other words, things that send us into the red zone!). Each student drew three things that make them feel this way. We will discuss strategies for handling these situations in the coming days. See below for what the activity looks like.
In social, we learned about cardinal and ordinal directions. Ask your child about the difference!
In math, we practiced writing numbers in expanded form.
We went to the gym for Ms. Nicolaou's gym time to finish practicing and to play a tag game.
Students have brought home their first homework of the year. Children should be asking you questions about their names, and writing down the information that you provide. This is for a writing project next week, so please give as much detail as possible! Please try to have them back as soon as possible, but by Monday at the latest.
Our grade 3/4 Terry Fox assembly will be held on September 22nd 2022. Family is welcome to join! Scripts were sent home last week for students who have lines in the assembly - please have your child practice over the next few evenings. We are doing Toonies for Terry again this year. Please remember to book your parent teacher conference for Thursday evening and Friday in the morning. The conference site is back up and running. If you are still having problems booking a time, please contact the office.
