We had an interesting day today! We had a sub in this morning so that I could pull students for some independent work.
In the morning, students had a variety of tasks that they worked on. Firstly, they wrote goals for reading and writing that they have for themselves to accomplish this year. We wrote them on paper sunglasses and have another fun activity related to this in the coming days.
Students also began colouring parts related to an "All About Me" project that we are doing.
After lunch, we worked through some math. We discussed the value of digits in various places and completed a practice sheet. Students worked towards answering questions independently and when students were done, they became the "experts" who were able to explain questions to students who required assistance. In science, we finished working on our plant webs from yesterday where students explained their knowledge of parts of a plant.
