Today in the gym, students began exploring double skipping with the long ropes. They did a really great job working together and communicating with the jumper so that everyone could be successful!

In language arts today, students worked in pairs to give and get peer feedback on their story beginning they have been working on creating. Each classmate gave their partner 2 stars (positive comments about their work) and 1 wish (something they could improve upon). I was so impressed with the thoughtful and kind feedback the students gave each other!

Today, we completed our first observation of the tomato seed growth that we planted on Friday. We will be doing daily observations to monitor growth and notice patterns between the 2 different types of seeds we planted.

In social studies, we began talking about the tradition of oral storytelling in the First Nation culture. Students learned the importance and purpose of oral stories, and explored some ways in which oral stories were kept in stone carvings called petroglyphs. We will soon be creating our own petroglyphs!

For this activity, we are asking students to bring in the small 1 liter cartons of milk or cream to use for our mold. Please ensure the cartons are rinsed well so they do not get stinky in our classroom… yuck!

Thank you so much!
